Papermakers of Victoria participated in an international project, The Ailanthus Project by Pamela Paulsrud and Marilyn Sward from Chicago USA.

Remember when you climbed a tree to rescue your cat, walked though the bush, chopped firewood, built a tree house, collected autumn leaves, yelled "ole ole ocean free" and ran for home base - the tree, picked apples in autumn, made a family tree, peeled back paper-bark, hung a birdhouse, counted the tree rings, cut your own Christmas tree, smelled the bush after rain...We collaborated on an installation about life as symbol and resource - The Tree.

We sent this paper to USA to be part of a larger installation but before we did that we exhibited all of the pieces in the Gallery space at the Box Hill Community Arts Centre.
