Papermakers
of Victoria Inc held a juried exhibition from 3 to 21 March
2009 to coincide with the 20th Congress of the International
Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists being held
in Tasmania.
Shared
Journeys was open to both Australian and international artists
and promotes the notion that all paper artists share journeys
in many senses - technically, artistically, geographically and
spiritually.
The
exhibition was being held in the new architecturally designed
gallery of Victoria University.
Level
17 Artspace is ideally located in the heart of Melbourne's
central business district and visual arts precinct and is
easily accessible by both trains and trams.
The
gallery, which is open six days a week, has a focus of encouraging
dynamic, challenging and experimental artistic practices.
Exhibiting
work in this gallery provided exposure for local, interstate
and overseas artists to a discerning and culturally aware public.
